Maintaining Music: French Horn with Kira Doherty No.2 Horn
Kira Doherty, the Philharmonia's No. 2 Horn, brings her instrument to Woodhead Horns. Inside, Luke and Heidi Woodhead offer their expertise and specialised services to repair Kira's horn, and provide friendly chat.
Maintaining Music is our new series highlighting the relationships between Philharmonia musicians and the craftspeople who build and maintain their instruments.
As members of a world-class orchestra performing across the globe, Philharmonia musicians are no stranger to a faulty instrument. Talented and trusted craftspeople ensure that our players feel confident and comfortable with their valuable instruments.
Through this series we discover how human connections are key to a customised, working instrument.
A film by Guy Wigmore.
