Forging and building a Kite shield
A massive kite shield or a teardrop shield that I made over a span of a week, I have been busy with school so this took a while. For those with questions, I painted it with acrylic paint and nailed it all together with roofing nails, half an inch thick. The weather has been rainy so forging the shield boss was annoying. I used canvas for the fabric and originally used two layers but only one was glued. Pine was used for the base of the wood but I recommend harder woods like oak or walnut due to the density, you can see when my machete goes through the top with an overhand swing. It could have been a lot better but it is the first big shield that I have ever constructed, I promise to improve the design over time. Thanks for watching!
