Syncope
A quick, informal "think aloud" when approaching syncope as a medical student. The history of present illness (HPI) is critical. Interview your patient with a differential diagnosis in mind. Syncope due to cardiac disease has a very poor prognosis, so knowing when--and when NOT- to do an extensive workup is important.
