In my eternal quest to bring little known information to light on the interweb I have made a video about swapping bars on your SV650. While the SV650's are notably the more comfortable of sport bikes I still found the discomfort of clip on bars obnoxious. So after much research and a little guess work I got it done. There was a ton of information about this that I wanted to share with you guys. With any luck my thoughts are concise enough that you can take it all in. Hopefully I can pass on what I have learned and make your bar swap much easier than mine was. Let me know if you have anymore questions about the parts or the process!
Not average tools you will need or most likely want:
-Dental picks (or a few long pokey tools of some sort)
-32mm socket for upper triple tree removal
-T40 security torx bit for ignition switch removal
-Drill press
-calipers (or another way to precisely measure hole locations)
Parts that I used to make the swap:
-Goodrich SS brake lines and Goodrich Banjo Bolts. I just ran two separate lines (one to each caliper) and a double banjo at the master cylinder.
-2004 CRF450R clutch cable (I have read on forums that the SV650N clutch cable is really tight especially if you get taller/wider bars.)
-Motion Pro SV650 extended throttle cables: https://www.motionpro.com/product/04-...
part number: 04-0331
-Renthal 1-1/8 Fat Bars
-1-1/8 bar risers
-Plenty of electrical wire
