A different kind of story from a deer rut hunt where we managed to bag the biggest stag I've ever seen. I'm not referring to the trophy size, but to its incredibly massive musculature.
This rut hunt took place in the Sierra de la Culebra mountains in the province of Zamora in 2021. Today, wildfires in Zamora have consumed some of those unique, unspoiled wild places.
I'm convinced I'll never again see an animal as physically imposing as Lágrima Negra, the last of the greats...
