The Namco N163 chip uses channel multiplexing to output up to 8 channels. Since it does not have a mixer, it gives each channel a round-robin like turn to compute and output its data. This produces an extremely annoying high-pitched noise that is painful to the ear. Implementing a mixer so that all channel data is output together fixes this issue, but the fact that the computation of each channel data still takes place in turns produces aliasing in its audio. This video aims to fix both problems, and see the result after the fix.
