Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (TDCS) is a type of Neurostimulation that uses constant, low current delivered to the brain section of interest via electrodes directly on the scalp. It was developed to help patients with brain injuries such as strokes and post traumatic stress. Tests on healthy adults had demonstrated tDCS can increase cognitive performance on a resonable variety of tasks, it all depends on the area of the brain being stimulated. It has been used to help enhance language ,mathematical ability, attention span, problem solving, and memory.
This would be the simplest type of device that uses only a led, 1k resistor , 5k variable pot, one electrolytic capacitor and a nine volt battery. this system works best with 3 or 4 volts so nine volt battery's that are on there way out work great. You can over do it with this machine so if you can feel it on your scalp turn it down the light should be just barley on and the stronger the electrolyte the stronger the current. Sodium Chloride (table salt) works great as electrolyte for the pads.If using a new battery just less than a 1/8 turn could be sufficient.
