The voltage requirement for the circuit may vary depending on the transistors and LED type used (Red/Green/Blue/White/self-color-changing). Typically, a 3 to 6-volt power supply is sufficient.
For use with higher voltage sources (e.g., 9V) or more powerful supplies, ensure to include at least a series resistor with the LED.
A buzzer can be added in series with the LED to provide audio feedback in addition to the visual indication. If doing so, adjust the voltage supply accordingly.

In Electroboom's video, a three-transistor circuit is explained, featuring a Darlington pair driving a 'switch' transistor to control the LED. However, the goal of non-contact AC voltage detection can be achieved using just two transistors. A Darlington (like) pair, or a Sziklai (like) pair [as used in the circuit in this video] works just as effectively for this purpose.
