JD 4020 24V: After starting, the starter would stay spinning, though not engaged to the flywheel. A check of different forums revealed the problem to likely be the start solenoid contact disks 'welding' together, running the starter but not engaging the drive.
UPDATE: Bad news: After a couple of starts, the starter 'stuck on' again. Back to the drawing board. If anyone has any ideas, please leave a message below. Thanks.
