In a fight for the future, Sereno and friends must face their greatest challenge yet-- he who maintains the universe itself.
To move on is to accept the past, not be stuck in the present, and walk faithfully into the future.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This film is a culmination of everything I have ever done. Everything has led to this moment.
This film, aptly titled "Sereno," is intended to be the last film I work on. What will happen to this channel from this point on is something I am unsure of. And yet we move forward all the same. This isn't necessarily going to be the last thing on this channel, bit isn't necessarily not going to be either.
I started down my path of filmmaking 9ish years ago, when I was a freshman in high school. You could argue I started a lot earlier because I made a lot of videos as a kid that have largely been lost to time. But I started filmmaking, and this channel for filmmaking, in 2014.
A lot has happened since. I graduated high school, I fell in love, I had my heart broken, I spent a long time trying to find myself, I graduated college... and all the while never skipping a beat on my films.
And in this time, I've produced over 150 short films and 2 feature films.
That's a lot. Every single person/filmmaker I talk to in real life about film is always incredibly shocked by that number. And truth is... I'm tired. I love filmmaking... I love it so, so much. But I'm tired. After such a number, I'm exhausted.
I'm going to grad school in Fall (2023) where I'll be studying Communications (like a film communications) at Liberty University. As a part of the curriculum I will still need to do practicum in film where I will need to keep creating, but I am not sure what.
If I find myself with excess time in grad school I will probably resume filmmaking. But I am also trying to find a job in order to sustain myself in that time.
I don't want to leave behind what we've built, I want to try and find a way to keep creating... but right now I don't know what that looks like.
I want to sincerely thank every single person who has supported me over these years. I wouldn't have made it this far without my incredible friends, my family, my viewers, my casts, my crews, and everyone in between.
Sincerely, thank you. While my real life has been incredibly rocky these 9 years, this has been a dream come true. As a kid I always wanted to be a YouTuber, and your support let me live that out (even if to a small degree).
And never forget...
The best is yet to come.
I believe that with all my heart. I do. I really do. I'm counting on it. But the question is... why? Why is the best still to come? Because our good outweighs our bad? No. Your good doesn't outweigh your bad, and my good doesn't outweigh my bad. There's only one reason: For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have ever lasting life.
That is a promise. That is a gift. It's a gift. To you and to me. But the thing about a gift is... you have to accept a gift. I don't know where you are on that today, but today may be the day for you. It really could. I'm no preacher, but I believe that.
We're counting on this, and we love this:
That God gave His firstborn Son to endure the worst so that we could join Him for the best.
