The Village - Pride Month Animation (VENT)
After entering middle school, a club was brought to my attention named P.R.I.S.M. which stood for "People respecting identity and sexuality in middle school." This made me wonder: What does this mean? After joining this club, I was introduced to all these knew people and community that I loved. Yes, my parents do not support my gender identity nor my sexuality. I've been looked at by others with disgust and confusion. My parents have told me that this was my friend's fault and they would move me back to China, but I didn't want that. I've been called selfish, crazy and many more hurtful words.
If you're part of this community, you all are valid and supported. Don't let others tell you what you can be. Enjoy this time to celebrate!
To others who might not support this due to religion and culture. I respect you and understand completely why you think this way.
