Duckling Facts:
It takes 50-70 days for ducklings to attain flight status. They’ll continue to stay within their mother’s supervision until they are about 1.5-2 months old.
A momma duck can have up to 12 ducklings.
Ducklings aren’t waterproof. They get some waterproof covering from their mother’s oil gland near her tail - this also helps them maintain their body temperature and ensures they avoid drowning.
