How can I make more things in Toki Pona, but also make things for people not already in Toki Pona? The answer was to do something that interests me, in both Toki Pona and in English!
But doing that wasn't easy. Usually, when you change one group of words into another group of words, the words get weird, like looking at a person wearing too-tight clothes and they don't like it. I came up with a way to fix that. The words, I mean.
When changing Toki Pona into English, I only used the most used words in English. Writing this way feels very like Toki Pona! You have small, simple ideas. You give them to your friend. You help your friend put those simple ideas together. And then you have one big idea!
Except, writing like this is very hard in English! In Toki Pona, I can use every word I know. But in English, I know a lot of words I can't use! And I keep using them! Help!
But harder than that was actually writing both of these and keeping their meaning the same! I spent longer on this than any of my other works, and it still feels really short. 9 minutes is fine, right?
Also, once I finished writing, I wasn't sure what to do for the part you see. So I made a small picture book and wrote more on it. Then I went through the whole thing once in Toki Pona and did it again in English, cleaned up, and here we are. I hope you liked it! I want to make more and better ones too.
