Legendary Racer, Car Designer Carroll Shelby Dies
The great snake charmer, Carroll Shelby, the force behind Ford's Cobra Mustangs and Chrysler's Viper racing and high-performance street machines, died Thursday at a Dallas hospital. He was 89."Carroll Shelby is America's Enzo Ferrari. He created some of the greatest American performance cars the world has ever seen," said Scott Oldham, editor in chief of automobile authority Edmunds.com. "His legend will live forever through those great machines."
