Being a lifelong DJI drone pilot my dad wanted to buy the Hubsan Zino Pro +. After reading up on it, the only way to really be able to tell was to buy it and try it. This is just a short test video filmed here in Reno, NV, USA. (Also very smoke filled skies from nearby wildfires - so don't judge).
My overall thoughts and feelings are its way better than I expected! It certainly is not a DJI drone, but this would be an ideal drone for someone wanting to start out droning before investing more money on DJI products.
The drone and remote are more plasticky than I expected. I wouldn't trust flying this drone in any winds as I could certainly see it shifting position in a light breeze. I did not test the max altitude for legal reasons, but did test the range and reached 1000 meters before seeing breakup.
Testing the battery duration - sitting in a hover for 15 minutes I did not see the battery usage move at all. So using this drone slowly you could get a good 30-minutes out of it, not the 40 minutes advertised. Using the drone at speed certainly used up the battery, so about 25-minutes.
All the presets like active track etc. work (not 100%) but more like 80% accurately, e.g. the active track would follow me walking and running pretty well, but sometimes slightly off centered etc.
There is not HDMI output on the remote which is something I need for live broadcasting. But not a big issue if you don't need it.
On the whole I give it a good thumbs up as a great starter drone for people just getting started. Easy to setup, link to your phone and get flying.
