Driving to Jackfield
Mining subsidence in the Ironbridge Gorge, Shropshire, has ruined many houses and roads over the decades, resulting in this roller-coaster drive! The first section of road has been wooden-boarded as it flexes more freely than tarmac. The sewerage pipes have been also been laid on the surface. The road was probably originally straight.
