1. Dr. Charles R. Drew - Developed large-scale blood banks early in World War II.
2. Garrett Morgan – Invented the three position traffic signal.
3. Lewis H. Latimer - Created an improved process for manufacturing carbon filaments for light bulbs, to enable mass production.
4. Marie Van Brittan Brown – Invented a video home security system along with her husband Albert Brown
5. .Sarah Goode - Invented the folding cabinet bed.
