Fans react to Liu Xiang's crash
Former world record holder and 2004 Olympic champion Liu Xiang crashed out of the London Games, after falling in the first heat of the 110m hurdles. Liu's stumble at the first hurdle shocked, saddened and disappointed supporters, both inside the Olympic Stadium and at home. The Chinese had high hopes that the 29-year-old would reclaim the gold he won at the 2004 Games and put the disappointment of the Beijing Games behind him.Liu's win in Athens made him the first Chinese man to claim an Olympic track and field gold medal, and turned him into a national superstar.
