Losing My Religion by R.E.M. | Contemporary Dance Performance
Throwback to a year ago. Lots of ups and downs in this life (especially lately) and in this performance for me. It's humbling to feel like you're constantly starting over, but there are also moments along the way to be proud of and grateful for. This performance definitely reflects that; I was frustrated by how I performed, but then also had these moments that I'm proud of and wouldn't take back even though there was a lot I didn't like.
I crave to get back to the place I was with dance technically, while keeping the emotional development I've had over the years. There are lots of reasons why I've fallen so far due to my health, but dance is so engrained in who I am that I will continue dancing no matter what, even if that means I look like a beginner, because I dance for myself and to hopefully have an inclusive community, free of judgement one day.
