एक छोटी सी मुलाक़ात
कुछ देर और बैठो –
अभी तो रोशनी की सिलवटें हैं हमारे बीच।
शब्दों के जलते कोयलों की आँच
अभी तो तेज़ होनी शुरु हुई है
उसकी दमक
आत्मा तक तराश देनेवाली
अपनी मुस्कान पर
मुझे देख लेने दो
मैं जानता हूँ
आँच और रोशनी से
किसी को रोका नहीं जा सकता
दीवारें खड़ी करनी होती हैं
ऐसी दीवार जो किसी का घर हो जाए।
कुछ देर और बैठो –
देखो पेड़ों की परछाइयाँ तक
अभी उनमें लय नहीं हुई हैं
और एक-एक पत्ती
अलग-अलग दीख रही है।
कुछ देर और बैठो –
अपनी मुस्कान की यह तेज़ धार
रगों को चीरती हुई
मेरी आत्मा तक पहुँच जाने दो
और उसकी एक ऐसी फाँक कर आने दो
जिसे मैं अपने एकांत में
शब्दों के इन जलते कोयलों पर
लाख की तरह पिघला-पिघलाकर
नाना आकृतियाँ बनाता रहूँ
और अपने सूनेपन को
तुमसे सजाता रहूँ।
कुछ देर और बैठो –
और एकटक मेरी ओर देखो
कितनी बर्फ मुझमें गिर रही है।
इस निचाट मैदान में
हवाएँ कितनी गुर्रा रही हैं
और हर परिचित कदमों की आहट
कितनी अपरिचित और हमलावर होती जा रही है।
कुछ देर और बैठो –
इतनी देर तो ज़रूर ही
कि जब तुम घर पहुँचकर
अपने कपड़े उतारो
तो एक परछाईं दीवार से सटी देख सको
और उसे पहचान भी सको।
कुछ देर और बैठो
अभी तो रोशनी की सिलवटें हैं … हमारे बीच।
उन्हें हट तो जाने दो –
शब्दों के इन जलते कोयलों पर
गिरने तो दो
समिधा की तरह
मेरी एकांत
