Nicoll Highway Collapse
On 20 April 2004, a massive construction accident occurred in Singapore when a tunnel being built for the Circle Line MRT collapsed near Nicoll Highway station. The collapse was caused by the failure of a temporary retaining wall that could not withstand the stress of holding up the tunnel.
