KEYNOTE: How to Leverage Data to Combat Climate Change 🌳 by Hillary Lovric @ Climate Vault
We all want to fight climate change, but quantifying carbon impact and identifying credible countermeasures are not straightforward tasks. Historically, tracking accurate carbon emissions has proven difficult and time-consuming. Either the data resides in disparate systems, or else companies and people are not gathering it in the first place. But there is a way to assemble all this data and leverage it to make immediate and actionable decisions. This talk explores how AI and machine learning can calculate critical data points around an organization’s carbon footprint in order to reduce and ultimately remove its carbon emissions, in conjunction with government-regulated Compliance Carbon Markets. We’ll showcase how, with the right data readily available, businesses can easily make decisions based not solely on financial impacts but directly on actual carbon emissions as well.
This talk is part of the conference’s climate tech 🌳 series, where speakers will discuss how technology can be used to mitigate climate change and make the world a better place.
The 5th annual Python Web Conf (#PWC2023) inspired attendees to use technology for good. The conference attracted 315 attendees from over 30 countries across 15 time zones. The highly engaging format featured 70 speakers, 5 tracks (including 64 talks and 5 tutorials) and took place virtually on March 13-17, 2023 on LoudSwarm by Six Feet Up.
