Area-based Approach in Humanitarian Response and Recovery
This animation by Catholic Relief Services/Caritas Internationalis demonstrates how an Area-based Approach can be applied in a humanitarian response and recovery setting. The approach puts people's capacities and priorities at the center of the response, building on existing government structures where possible, and working in partnership with local government and communities to effectively meet people's holistic needs. In this bottom up approach, communities are central to defining a response that is tailored to reflect and fulfill their needs for recovery.
