Some of you might be wondering if Jennifer Connelly picked the right door. YES.
She just fell through a hole (not "certain death") inside the Labyrinth of the Goblin King.
EXPLANATION TO THE RIDDLE:
To solve the puzzle, you must ask the RIGHT question to any guard (doesn't matter which one).
Here's a simpler and clearer one for the sake of discussion:
Which DOOR would the OTHER GUARD say that leads out to SAFETY?
Both guards will indicate the opposite door always (the door that DOESN'T lead out to safety).
Scenario one: The guard you asked is the one who lies.
– If the guard you asked is the one who lies, then he will definitely tell you falsely the answer of the other (truthful) guard.
Scenario two: The guard you asked is the one who tells the truth.
– If the guard you ask is the one who tells the truth, he will tell you honestly the answer of the other (lying) guard.
In both cases, the outcome is the same. To stay alive, you must walk through the opposite door you’ve been told.
