This is Part 1. A Detroit Diesel 60 series 12.7 had started blowing white smoke. Two containers of Blue Devil was probably used following the instructions. The white smoke had vanished as stated and to help even further, I ran the rig with no coolant pressure. This setup lasted over a year and I drove about 100,000 miles. 100,000 miles with a 550hp 1950 torque 171702 turbo Detroit 60. This was quite the test. After application the engine did lose some thermal efficiency and ran hotter climbing hills. I am not sure I recommend using this product. It depends, if you need to buy some time, it can come in handy. It bought me 100,000 miles. I just wanted to see how long it would last. Eventually the #2 liner sunk even further and it then again blew white smoke. In part 2 I will tearing deeper into the engine and eventually we will see what the Blue Devil stuck to and can I Clean it off to improve thermal efficiency once again and rebuild this motor.
