INSULIN
Insulin is an "anabolic" hormone par excellence: it provides cells with the necessary supply of glucose for energy-consuming synthesis processes. Thus, glycolysis and cellular respiration produce the necessary energy in the form of ATP. Its function is to promote the uptake of glucose from the blood into cells. Insulin is released by the beta cells of the pancreas when blood glucose levels are high.
