Drysuit Skills: Descending and Ascending
*These training videos were created for staff at SONGS Mitigation and Monitoring, UC Santa Barbara. These videos were developed based on our staff's skill level, and for the conditions we experience and gear that we use.
This video shows use of the drysuit inflator valve, exhaust valve, and BCD LPI throughout descents and ascents.
Use your LPI hose on your BCD to float at/ release air when on surface, or to help ascend if there is a substantial leak in the drysuit.
Use your drysuit exhaust valve during descent, ascent, or any time you need to release air.
Use your drysuit inflator valve to prevent squeeze upon descent, control buoyancy underwater, and to stay warm during the dive.
