Taco seasoning recipe single or bulk batch
We cannot get our favorite taco seasoning in the south so we started making our own.
Taco seasoning (single batch)
1 tablespoon flour
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon minced onion
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon sugar
1/8 teaspoon oregano
1/4 teaspoon cocoa powder
Mix all together and store in air tight container.
Taco seasoning (large batch)
6 tablespoon flour
2 tablespoons chili powder
2 tablespoons paprika
2 tablespoons salt
2 tablespoons minced onion (we get this from Azure and it is the best price and taste)
1 tablespoon cumin
1 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 1/2 teaspoon sugar
3/4 teaspoon oregano
1 1/2 teaspoon cocoa powder
Mix all together and store in air tight container.
to make taco meat
cook 1 lb ground meat of choice until cooked through. Drain off fat and return to the pan.
Add 3 tablespoons of the mix and 2/3 cup water. Stir together and cook for 10 minutes uncovered stirring occasionally on medium low heat.
