Video Games Monthly Unboxing - First Box - Not So Great
I recently signed up for Video Games Monthly and was eagerly awaiting my first box. I received it about two weeks ago, but only opened it a few days ago in this video. I was disappointed.
Unlike Retro Game Treasure, customers don't get to choose their preferences as far as game genres, leaving it entirely up to the discretion of Video Games Monthly to select your game titles. While this adds a level of mystery, it's also an easy way for VGM to maximize profits by sending customers games with little value. While perceived value is certainly a consideration (i.e. WWF Wrestlemania might actually be a game that others find exciting), both the retail value and perceived value of these games were very little for me.
With the understanding that not every box is going to be a massive success, I'm going to give Video Games Monthly another month before I cancel. Unfortunately, I anticipate being disappointed again and believe there's a good chance that next month's box will be my last.
I paid $34.99 to receive the box of games that you saw in this video.
