Add it to the list of series Nintendo has ruined this generation.
At least it isn't as bad as Pikmin 4.
The original Mario & Luigi games felt special. Despite the constant tutorials the games still respected the player in ways that mattered. They took the plot seriously, had clever writing, and got you into the core gameplay loop in a reasonable amount of time. It was clear there was genuine passion behind their development.This one feels like it was slapped together in less than a year so that Nintendo could have a product to ship before the Switch 2. It's a cheap imitation that lost everything that made the series good in translation.
Nintendo wanted to ride off the same hype they got for continuing dormant series like Pikmin and Metroid, and it worked. People are already applauding the game despite it not even being released. (or good.) It's a trend that I've seen repeated for every Nintendo game this generation.
People ride off the hype, treating the games like masterpieces even before they release.
Half a year later people finally come around to talk about how the games were actually terrible and failed to live up to the games before them.
Then another half a year later some special "Hot Takers" make some videos on how the games are actually really over hated, and the ending made them cry tears of joy or something.
It happens every single time. Toxic positivity has done irreparable damage to the games industry.
I don't know who these products are made for anymore. Even as a kid I would've found this insulting.
And yes the stuttering is part of the game, not a recording issue.
