Get to know our Phonetic Reading Cards 1B
Children can read these words when they are just beginning to crack the code of English. Think about it. About half of our language is phonetic. So we teach children those phonetic rules first and help them read one word at a time. That’s so doable when you’re first starting out!
This video features another group of phonetic words: Packet 1B. The words are organized to avoid the challenge of letter reversals (for example, no 'b' and 'd' words in the same packet). Our goal here is to let children succeed when they are first starting to crack the code. Later, after they've had some experience and success, we add in challenge.
