Too often in DayZ we see the coming of night as an excuse to log off and change server or do something else, especially when you're a fresh spawn and haven't found an electric battery powered torch flash-light or you don't have a road-flare or chem-light.
The improvised torch however is quick and easy to make, you can upgrade it with fat & fuel, and keep it going by adding more rags or bandages - a great light source to learn to craft for beginners!
