certificate chain not trusted sql server error while trying to refresh data microsoft power bi desktop application. Microsoft SQL: A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the login process. (provider: SSL Provider, error: 0 - The certificate chain was issued by an authority that is not trusted.). User trying to refresh report from microsoft power bi desktop by clicking "Refresh" from ribbon and got power bi data refresh error. Navigate to Transform data and click on Data source settings. Select the data source. Click on Edit Permissions. Click on Edit under credentials. You might have selected connection type as Database or Microsoft account. Change the connection type to Windows and click on Save. Keep Encryption connections and Privacy level selection as it was before. Click OK and try to refresh the report now.
