The next peace summit will be held with the participation of Russia - but not by its rules. That's what EU High Representative Josep Borrell stated.
«We have to pin our hopes on peace through diplomatic negotiations, but on a certain basis. And not on Putin's basis.»
Earlier, Vladimir Putin set out his conditions for starting peace talks with Ukraine. According to him, Russia will cease fire and be ready to start peace talks when Ukraine withdraws its troops from Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions.
Ukraine should also declare its refusal to join NATO. And the West should lift sanctions against Russia. Kyiv and its Western partners have already rejected the Kremlin's proposal.
