Identifying Library Versions When Remotely Hacking Linux Vulnerabilities
Often, when playing CTF's or hacking remote Linux binaries in general, you don't know what libc version the target program is using. Memory leaks are typically a requirement for many exploits. Using the libc_database, you can identify the library version to then be able to know the RVA's for your ROP gadgets and such.
