The Konnekt Captioning Videophone can make and receive standard phone calls with captions (shown here), as well as captioned video calls (for lip reading).
Captions (voice-to-text, also known as subtitles) are private (no relay-agent listening), fast and accurate. Most captioning mistakes are auto-corrected, usually within a second, based on the sentence context.
You can use the Konnekt hands-free (or with headphones/headset) for binaural listening. For monaural listening and a more traditional experience, ask for the optional handset, which adds clarity, reduces noise, and makes calls private from people in the same room.
Calls are made with the touch of a named call button, or by simply dialling a number on the touch-screen keypad.
The Konnekt Captioning Videophone is perfect for people who are deaf or hard-of-hearing (we no longer use the terms hearing impairment, hearing disability or hearing loss).
There are options and accessories available to those with vision, dexterity, memory, cognitive and/or mobility needs.
Compared to our 2021 video, you'll see that captioning is faster; more accurate and complete; and the A.I. auto-correction (if any) generally occurs within 1-2 seconds rather than only at the end of the sentence.
