"Salmo 82
Dios está en la congregación de los poderosos;
En medio de los dioses juzga.
¿Hasta cuándo juzgaréis injustamente,
Y aceptaréis las personas de los impíos? Selah
Defended al débil y al huérfano;
Haced justicia al afligido y al menesteroso.
Librad al pobre y al menesteroso;
Libradlos de la mano de los impíos.
No tienen conocimiento ni entendimiento,
Andan en tinieblas;
Tiemblan todos los cimientos de la tierra.
Yo dije: Vosotros sois dioses,
Y todos vosotros hijos del Altísimo;
Pero como hombres moriréis,
Y como cualquiera de los príncipes caeréis.
Levántate, oh Dios, juzga la tierra;
Porque tú heredarás todas las naciones.
El Salmo 82 enfatiza el llamado de Dios a la justicia entre los gobernantes, instándolos a defender a los débiles y mantener los derechos de los oprimidos, recordándoles su mortalidad.
