📍 In this video, I'm wandering the streets of Lucknow, India, and trying one of the city's most famous delicacies: Idris Biryani. But this episode isn't just a food video; you'll also see the crowds of Lucknow, its street culture, its sweets, its paan stalls, and the atmosphere of daily life.
At the beginning of the video, I dive into the city extremely hungry and head straight to one of Lucknow's most popular spots: Idris Biryani. This is a very famous place that has been around for years. The biryani, brewed in huge cauldrons, the way the meat is cooked, the appearance of the rice, and the system in that crowded place are truly remarkable. This biryani, eaten by hand, is both delicious and tells the story of why Lucknow is so famous in a single dish.
Afterwards, I continue wandering the streets and trying different dishes. Orange bread, spicy potato snacks, local drinks, milky desserts, Kulfi Faluda, different versions of the famous paan and pani pöri – we're practically embarking on a full Lucknow street food tour. Some flavors are fantastic, while others are surprisingly strong and spicy.
In this episode, you also see small but important details of daily life in India: how people drink water, the extreme crowds on the streets, paint sellers, children following you around, bargaining, dogs, tuk-tuks, and the never-ending hustle and bustle… I especially experience firsthand how the issue of giving money to children can suddenly get out of control.
In my opinion, Lucknow is a truly strong city when it comes to food. It stands out especially with its biryani, desserts, and street snacks. But at the same time, its crowds, chaos, and pedestrian traffic keep you constantly on edge.
