There are two ways to start antibody formation by your immune system. Either you get disease or you get vaccination, Your immune system requires exposure of pathogen to activate and start antibody formation A vaccine works by training the immune system to recognize and fight pathogens. To do this some part from the pathogen must be introduced into the body to trigger an immune response. Vaccine can be in the form of oral drops e.g., Polio vaccine or injection e.g. Covid-19vaccine.
B and T cells form memory cells as well. These memory cells remember their enemies. Next time when the pathogen enters these two types of memory cells become active immediately and start killing pathogens. This quick immune response assures that pathogen will be unable to grow in the body and cause disease. So if you are vaccinated against Polio, then after the entry of polio virus in your body your immune response will kill all Polio viruses. You will stay healthy and protected from diseases.
