In this video I’m going to show you a simple and effective trading technique that doesn’t rely on market direction. This is a follow-up to the video on your screen—make sure to watch that first for more details.
Overview
This strategy uses the Standard Deviation Indicator to predict price action. No need to guess market direction! The majority of price movement happens within specific deviations from a central line:
68% of price action occurs within 1 standard deviation.
95% occurs within 2 deviations.
99% occurs within 3 deviations.
Trading Strategy
Once you identify these deviations:
Trade back to the midline when the price hits a deviation.
Repeat as necessary—each deviation offers a high-probability trade back to the center.
Setting Up the Indicator
Go to Insert → Channels → Standard Deviation on MetaTrader.
Adjust for 1, 2, and 3 standard deviations.
Save this as a template to reuse on any chart or timeframe.
