PLEASE READ THIS - This clip is from the Italian peplum film, "Kindar l'invulnerabile"" (Kindar the Invulnerable - 1965), which starred the American bodybuilder, Mark Forrest. Forest, a third generation Italian from Brooklyn, was born Lou Degni. He was only the second US bodybuilder hired by Italian producers to appear in their sword and sandal epics foldowing on the success they had acheived with Steve Reeves. He can also be seen in "Fifties Cheesecake Dance No. 13, which features his 1960 film, "Son of Samson". Kindar was his last Italian peplum film as he returned to the US to study opera. He currently lives in California where he sings and teaches opera.
"Kindar the Invulnerable" is the story of a sultan's son who possesses magical powers which make it impossible to harm him. As a baby he is kidnapped by a desert bandit who raises the boy as his own son. The film was directed by Osvaldo Civirani and also features Mimmo Palmara as Seymuth, the bandit who raises Kindar; Rosalba Neri as Kira, his mistress who has an eye for Kindar; and Dea Flowers as Nefer, the beautiful princess who falls in love with Kindar.
Parts of the film were obviously shot in North Africa, possibly Egypt, but the credits do not acknowledge this. The fleshy dancer in this clip looks very authentic and the extras in the village scenes look like rural peasants.
