The legacy of the Polovtsian people is being fought over by Kazakhs, Tatars, peoples of the Caucasus, and more Melike groups, each of whom considers themselves to be their descendants.
And while enthusiasts cleverly adopt the ethnonym "Kipchak" or the desired haplotype to claim their own direct descendants, the history of the Polovtsians fades into the background. Yet it is precisely there that the path to the people's direct descendants lies.
