Thermite explosion from ordinary items
This is Dave Thomas from the New Mexicans for Science and Reason Showing us exactly why some 9/11 Truthers claim thermite explosives were discovered in the wreckage of the Twin Towers. That's because it was! Thermite is just rust and aluminum dust; put them together under some heat, as shown in this demonstration, and you get an explosion. The Twin Towers were made of rusty old steel and lots of aluminum. Here Dave is using two rusty old cannonballs, one of which is wrapped in aluminum foil.

2 Al + Fe₂O₃ → Al₂O₃ + 2 Fe
