Yes, that’s right! I just bought a new high growth stock and added it to my portfolio. Spotify stock!
Recently, I took action and added some more cash to my portfolio and I bought 2 new shares of Spotify stock! SPOT stock. I focus on finding high growth stocks that have the potential to go up in value over long periods of time.
In this episode, I’ll go over some of my thoughts and opinions on why I’m investing in Spotify stock and the trend I’m seeing in the audio industry right now!
So why do I like Spotify stock as a top high growth stock and why am I building a position now when the stock has already jumped up from around $120 per share to almost $300? At these levels, Spotify stock can’t be cheap and undervalued in August 2020, right?
So let’s go over some of my thoughts and what I’m seeing right now!
What is Daniel Ek’s company Spotify all about? Well, he’s going with a Jeff Bezos business model of focusing on growth over profitability and based on my research, founder and CEO, Daniel Ek, has said that 2020 is an investment year. You all know I like long-term visions when it comes to investing in the stock market!
So if you haven’t heard of Spotify, Spotify is a global brand and is one of the world’s largest music streaming services. I like global brands…which is why Apple and Starbucks are in my portfolio.
Spotify recently reported earnings and there are over 299 Million monthly active users on the Spotify platform and of those users, 138M pay a subscription. Yes, you heard that right, a subscription model.
In my opinion, Spotify is cornering the podcast industry right now and is winning consumer's ears all around the world whereas Netflix is a streaming service that’s winning consumer's eyes.
I believe Spotify is a pure-play on the podcasting world to go along with the music world and audio world.
I’ve noticed that Spotify’s management team is on top of following the latest trends, which is why they started to leverage exclusive content to draw a larger audience to the platform. Adding the Joe Rogan Podcast was a game-changing move in my opinion. Faze Banks, Addison Rae, and Kim Kardashian will be influencing their fan bases to the Spotify platform and brand. For those that don’t know, TikTok has been a very popular app and Addison Rae is one of the most followed influencers on that platform.
As mentioned, a catalog of exclusive content is Spotify’s growth strategy. Spotify knows The Joe Rogan Experience Podcast gets millions of hits on Youtube every single upload.
This not only opens to door to podcasters, but it also opens the doors to music artists as well. I think Spotify is just getting started with buying exclusive content…very similar to what Netflix did. I think Spotify is in the driver's seat to influence listenership all over the world.

My ZERO to INFINITY stock portfolio is a little over $11,200. Apple’s stock split was big news and may draw in a larger buyer pool with a lower stock price. We saw this stock split trend followed up by Elon Musk and Tesla stock split.
My biggest position Fiverr stock reported earnings along with Square stock, Penn National Gaming stock & Shift4 Payments stock, and there was a lot of movement in my portfolio.
