Quick test of the 6K Anamorphic mode from the GH5.
Filmed with Sankor Compact Cinemascope 2x attached to Nikon 50mm 1.4. Stopped down to F5.6. Iso 400. 90 Degree shutter 24FPS Exact. All handheld. Double focusing is a PITA.
First thoughts, it's not really worth the hassle. It's cool and looks great but Premiere crashed everytime and my 12 core 128gb of ram, 2x GTX1080s PC couldn't playback the footage in Resolve. I decided to transcode into 4992x1872 DNxHR Sq which is only 8 bit and then make a final edit in Resolve.
I tried to export into DNxHR 4992x3744 and then convert into 2.0 in Premiere and creating a sequence with one of the clips to match timeline but it crashed and locked up the hard drive. I don't recommend trying that.
I'm probably just going to stick to the Ursa Mini and Raw 4608x1920 2.4:1. I love that look and it's a much faster workflow.
