A Queensland truck driver who nearly crashed head-on with a Queensland motorcycle cop in a head-on collision has been banned from driving.
Body-cam footage from the officer riding the motorbike shows the semi-trailer veering over the double-white lines into the path of oncoming traffic. The policeman had to steer into the emergency lane to avoid almost-certain death in the near-miss in August. Police described the officer as "lucky to be alive".
Footage taken from a police vehicle following the truck shows the incident from the other direction.
The 54-year-old driver was intercepted by police soon afterwards. He was disqualified from driving for six months and fined $2500 by the Court.
