Not far from the city of Zhlobin, Gomel region, there is a small village - Krasny Bereg. Here is the only monument of palace and park architecture of the 2nd half of the 19th century in the region - the Kozel-Poklevsky estate.
The history of the estate began long before its construction. At the end of the 19th century, the Krasny Bereg estate was bought out by Lieutenant General of Engineering Mikhail Semenovich Gotovsky. The daughter of Mikhail Semenovich, Maria, who was raised in care and love, received the estate from her father as a gift.
Soon, by proxy, the management of the estate passes to Maria's husband, Vikenty Alfonsovich Kozel-Poklevsky.
Vikenty Kozel-Poklevsky was a Russian entrepreneur, wine merchant, mining and gold producer, heir to the asbestos industry in the Urals and the first shipping company on the rivers of Western Siberia.
A huge empire was created by the tireless work of his father, a millionaire entrepreneur, public figure, philanthropist and philanthropist Alfons Kozel-Poklevsky, a native of the Lepel region.
The manor complex, built in 1893, includes a manor house, an outbuilding, outbuildings, a distillery and a magnificent park in the English style.
