US Army Special Forces
The US Army Special Forces Special Forces (US Army Special Forces) US Army Special Forces; also commonly known as Green Berets, are selected units of the US Army for guerrilla warfare and the organization of special operations , sabotage, counter-terrorism, and so on).
The motto is De Oppresso Liber (“oppressed to liberate”), reflecting one of the main tasks of the special forces: on the one hand, they perform combat missions and special operations other than war outside the US, including overthrowing unwanted US governments in third countries, on the other hand training foreign soldiers and members of national liberation movements of countries with pro-Soviet ruling regimes during the Cold War.
Among other tasks solved by army special forces are direct combat operations, special reconnaissance, the fight against terrorism, search and rescue operations, participation in peacekeeping and humanitarian operations, demining, the fight against drug trafficking.
