Do you feel like you struggle with every little decision you have to make, as simple as what clothes you're going to wear to work, or what you're going to cook for breakfast? Have you noticed that you have difficulty facing important decisions, almost paralyzing yourself with anxiety? Are you afraid of making decisions and try to procrastinate as much as you can? Are you afraid of making a mistake in a decision? Decidophobia is the fear that paralyzes you from making decisions. Most have some type of anxiety about decisions, but someone with decidophobia feels it very intensely in everyday life. The term decidophobia was suggested by Walter Kauffman, a Princeton philosopher, who introduced the term in his book “Guiltlessness and Justice” which involves conformism. From a mental health perspective, decidophobia is classified as anxiety disorders under an umbrella, it is defined as an irrational and extreme fear of some object or situation even if it does not represent any risk or danger.
