"What It Is (Orchestral Remix)" - Jesse Johnson
I’ve always had a soft spot for orchestral arrangements of pop songs. There’s just something magical about orchestra instruments that explores caverns of a song’s potential that a guitar cannot.
I’ve programmed lots of orchestral flavorings into songs over the years, but this one is special because it’s one of only a small handful of tracks that I have released as full, orchestral arrangements (check out also my XINOTA “Kingston” remix).
I had the idea to do this a while back and finally got cracking on it. And I love how it turned out! I hope you enjoy this remix of my song “What It Is” as much as I enjoyed making it.
Software: Logic Pro X
Microphone: Apogee MiC
Orchestra software: 100% Logic Pro X stock plugins and simulators. The French horns and staccato cellos are my favs.
Plugins: Waves CLA everything, Toontrack EZmix, FabFilter Pro-L 2 (for mastering), and numerous Waves plugins for random things.
